HOW TO HELP
FINANCIAL DONATIONS
Any amount helps! As a volunteer-run, grass-roots organization, your gift goes a long way and directly helps animals animals in need. Financial assistance helps us with the following:
-
Vehicle transport of animals from Anahim Lake to Williams Lake (or other centres) for vet care and/or rescue transfer.
-
Cargo flight expenses to transfer animals to larger centres for rescue transfer.
-
Food/supplies for stray, surrendered, or transported animals.
-
Vaccines and dewormer for program animals and pets of low-income families.
-
Veterinary supplies to stabilize injured or sick dogs who don't have access to a clinic.
-
Spay/neuter transport and subsidies
We gratefully accept donations by email transfer, PayPal, cheque or cash. Email transfers or questions can be sent to wildwestanimals@gmail.com.
We are a registered non-profit society in BC but (in part to keep our administrative expenses low) we are not currently a Registered Charity. We cannot issue tax receipts, although we do work with partner organizations who can. If you wish to make a tax-receptable donation, please contact us and we can connect you!
SUPPLY DONATIONS
Our community pets do not have a lot of the creature comforts many pets take for granted. If they are community animals or their owner is low income, they may not have a consistent source of food.
Through the Good Haul program, we move donations from the Southern Coast to remote communities in need in BC. The most requested items are:
-
Cat and kitten food - kibble or canned (this is always our most requested item)
-
Cat litter
-
Dog food - kibble preferred
-
First aid supplies - vet wrap, antiseptic, medical tape, pain meds
-
Dewormer
-
Crates (all sizes)
-
Gas cards
We can take recently expired bags of food (within 3 months) if it is sealed. Canned food can be used within 1 year.
We can take opened bags of food if it is not expired and if it has been well sealed (we recommend duct tape or packing tape for an airtight seal). Ensure the expiry date is visible or marked on the bag.
VOLUNTEER
As a new organization, we'll need all the help we can get! We particularly need help in these areas:
-
Transport - do you drive any part of the way between Vancouver and Williams Lake, Quesnel, Kamloops, or other areas? Could you help move crated animals or supplies?
-
Supply drives - do you have the ability to collect or store donations of food and supplies for us?
-
Special skills - do you have a talent that can help us build a thriving, sustainable organization? A flair for administration, accounting, fundraising, or marketing? Please get in touch!
